Have you ever just wanted half a can of something and popped the rest in the fridge and forgot about it? Or had some leftovers and thought, "that could be useful" and put it to the back to be found 6 months later. Or have a pack of 5 sausages and only wanted 3? The other day, I popped open the fridge to find the following:
1/2 can of beans.
2 random sausages
1/2 leftover chorizo sausage
1/2 of a massive onion, stinking out the fridge.
A pack of frozen char-grilled veggies
Lunchbox of chopped tomatoes
Lunchboxes of pulses and leftover chopped veggies.
I hate wasting food. I mean c'mon! As a foodie (and I don't care, I LOVE that word), putting wasted rotting food into my compost bin makes me a little sad. Yes, it's not technically going to waste and it will make some pretty flowers, but it's not in my belly. Which is where it should have gone.
